MOTIVATION: the most abused word
To understand the problem we have to find out the primaries first for the same. We should find the part or the whole from where it leads to its subparts. The reason behind our ever growing demand for motivation has got two primaries. First is the reality and second thing is how do we perceive reality. In other words, it is our subjectivity.
What is the reality? Not too tough to think, the thing what exist is the reality. If we humans exist, is the reality. If today Google uncle, the ultimate source of information exists, that is the reality. Eventually what exists is the reality. Does it have got anything with the motivation? First, we need to understand why we need motivation or in order to reach any goal why do we need some extrinsic stimulation? Why only realization of need is not sufficient to step up in the direction of the desired destination. Reason is quite simple we don't understand or try to understand that there is a system working today and it has got a kind of mechanism where nothing is guaranteed. Nobody can say that anything guarantees something and that is the reality. The in-built system of our society what plays a role for its defense is the reality and that is what we need to understand. Anything what happens as the result and told to be the natural consequence of some act or attempt is truly not the reality but somewhat a fluke, you have to just find it.That unpredictablity of life is the basic cause behind our need to constantly demand for the motivation.
There is no possible secret of success and that is the reason why we read stuffs and attend workshop of great motivational speaker by paying money from our pocket so that we can get some motivation. We need to ask the question whether we need motivation or do we need to understand the basic reality of our need. Here I don't say the basic need, it could be fulfilled for some of us even if we don't do anything. So finally, as a conclusion, I want to say that we don't need any motivation but the understanding of the reality. We have to understand that A is A. No motivation is required to understand this, except an understanding of the reality that no extrinsic motivation is required if you understand the truth that how the things move on. A plant doesn't need motivation to grow, a bird doesn't need motivation to fly, and universe doesn't need any motivation to keep the things on the motion.
Second reason before us is the subjectivity we all have. A specific frame of mind by which we look upon the things and reach a judgement. I do believe there is nothing like objectivity. Your faculty of perception cannot let you reach the purest form and the truth of the existence and it would remain there with some shred of your subjective understanding of something. Now why is this again related with the motivation part. Let's first start with the question why do we get demotivated. Answer would be because we are not happy with the things the way they are. So if we really understand that this is not the way it should be do we need motivation or understanding of the reality? We need to understand the logical process of solving problems rather seeking motivation to cope up with the problems. Here comes the strength of your subjectivity. If we are not able to reach our goal or aim we need to shake our subjectivity or paradigm, we need to go for the Paradigm shift rather seeking motivation.
P. S.- I am not against the motivation however I feel aghast and worried that we require it even if not needed. excessive demand for motivation is as bad as demotivation plaguing ourselves. I would say that man has a conscience so it requires certain stimuli at certain times.
