Do we have the Dirt gene?
Do we have the Dirt
gene?
Just a few weeks ago India’s minister for environment & forest declared that “Our cities could win a Nobel prize for filth”. Because our cities are the dirtiest in the world.
For this a lots of causes came out. Like
· Poverty
· Over Population
· Indian attitude
Indian government has increased
its spending by 15 times in last 10 years but poverty line has decreased by miniscule
2%. Indian population has reached 1.25 billion and in next 25 years we will
surpass china.
So both poverty & over population
are something that are not in our control.
The only thing we can change is our attitude towards hygiene and
sanitation.
I have developed certain question & answers in my mind which I
would like to share with you all.
1. “Do we really have dirt
gene”?
Then I answer d myself “Yes we have a dirt gene”. We can see a lot of
examples in daily routine life in support of my yes. Like a lot of
our countrymen consume tobacco and betel and spit on road. They throw garbage
on street. And above all we have government machineries like local Municipal
Corporation who are in charge of cleanliness. The irony is that they are mostly
dysfunctional.
2. “Why we have a dirt gene?”
They I rethink my question
& conclude that we don’t have dirt gene. We have proved ourselves in the
global forum that we are hardworking, intelligent and can create miracles.
India is 3rd as per HDI index behind US and Singapore in producing maximum no.
of qualified professionals. In NASA out of every seven members one is Indian.
So we have the capability in making miracles, just a trigger is required.
3. Now the question is that,
who will pull the trigger? You, me. …Or..............everyone?
So my dear friends I would love to invite more valuable answers
from all of you.
