    I learned to operate a computer in the year 1985. Actually I had been hearing about the “Computer” for some time and all weird things about it, but had never seen one. So with a lot of anxiety in my mind I walked into an institute to know about computers. I had heard the computer understood only its own language – the machine language. I was never very good in mathematics and Physics. Had always scored average marks in school so I was afraid that if computer programming was all about physics and mathematics, then I would be wasting my time and money. However, I enrolled myself and started learning Programming. What fun it was to see the computer follow my instructions. Programming wasn’t much difficult initially. The bottom line was that the computer would only follow a straight and simple LOGIC.

    Its more than 20 years now, and still I’m learning about computers. The computer itself has changed such a lot. Like the books have “editions”, computers have “versions”. Each version has its own feature and is advanced than the previous one. When I sit back and try to remember the changes that came my way in computer technology, apart from the new programming concepts and languages, the most remarkable was “Multimedia” and “Internet”. “Internet” has become a powerful tool of Communications today. To many its not only a tool of communication but a window to view the world, a window through which one gets various information about what is happening around the world. Even I cannot think a world without computers and internet connection. The next major advancement was providing service through the Internet, like fixing your computer , purchasing something, getting payments, net banking, etc.
