Brandon had a little heartburn with his indigestion. It doesn't mean there was anything wrong with his heart. Heartburn is a burning feeling that travels from a person's chest up to the neck and throat. It's caused by stomach acid, which isn't a problem unless it gets out of your stomach.

Dyspepsia is a disorder in which there may be symptoms of upper abdominal pain (above the navel), belching, nausea (with or without vomiting), abdominal bloating (the sensation of abdominal fullness without objective distention), early satiety (the sensation of fullness after a very small amount of food), and, possibly, abdominal distention (swelling).

Symptoms of dyspepsia originate from the upper gastrointestinal tract, primarily the stomach and first part of the small intestine. The symptoms most often are provoked by eating, which is a time when many different gastrointestinal functions are called upon to work in concert. If function is not normal, the symptoms of dyspepsia occur.
Indigestion or dyspepsia is a condition of the stomach in which digestive juices are not secreted properly and results in discomfort.
This condition is mainly the result of consumption of variety of foodstuffs. Acidity, heartburn, gas problems can be considered the problems under indigestion. Women are more prone to indigestion during the time of their menstrual periods.

Indigestion Treatment
The patients of Indigestion as a primary measure should avoid all the conditions which are the main cause of Indigestion. The treatment must be started with fasting or fruit diet.
After fruit diet light Sattvic Aahar like Dalia or whole wheat bread and green vegetables should be taken. The strict observance of following two rules is necessary for getting rid of this disorder. These are:
1. Thorough mastication of food and cautious avoidance of over eating.
2. Application of Mud pack over abdomen.
3. Hip bath and Wet abdominal pack also gives adequate relief.
4. Lemon water enema once or twice a week is also helpful.
5. If necessary, it should be taken daily for first two three days.

Home Remedies of Indigestion
1. Fasting completely for one day is an efficient method to digest Ama.
2. Taking fruits, fruit juices and boiled vegetables for one week is also a very beneficial way of fasting.
3. Lemon juice mixed in warm water taken three times a day improves digestion.
4. Chewing a small piece of fresh ginger with salt, five to ten minutes before meals, stimulates digestion.
5. Take equal amounts of ginger powder, black pepper, dried mint leaves, asafetida (hing), anise seeds, coriander seeds, cumin, fennel and common salt. Grind together to make a fine powder. Dosage: Take about 1 teaspoon of this powder with water, twice a day after meals.
6. Drinking buttermilk after a meal improves digestion. Roasted cumin seeds and a little salt in the buttermilk enhance its effectiveness.
7. Drinking water gives immediate relief to symptoms like wind, distended stomach and acidity.
8. Eat half a teaspoon of aniseed to improve digestion.
9. A teaspoon of ginger juice mixed in a quarter cup of warm water can be taken two or three times a day. A teaspoon of lemon juice and a pinch of salt can also be added to make it more effective.
