Exit interview is crucial

An aspect of Human Resource that is now being incorporated in every organization is an exit interview. Just like one takes interview while hiring a candidate an interview should be conducted when the employee leaves. The employee leaves either because he/she is asked to or it is a personal choice.

Most of the time exit interview is carried out is retain the bidding employee. A skilled HR can convince the employee to stay by understanding his/her needs and fulfilling them. Exit interview can come to ones rescue during times of high attrition. If the employee is ceased from quitting, it helps save the company funds. Hiring new employee not only is time consuming but the amount invested on training them costs the company hence it is preferable to stop the old employee from leaving.

An exit interview basically allows the organization to end the connection in a positive note. It promotes healthy networking and any form of negativity is eliminated. In case the employee is leaving due to personal problems, he/she would like to resume back to work once the problem is culminated.

Organizations that miss out on exit interview miss on feedback and it is the feedback that helps an organization progress. Why is the attrition rate high? What changes can be made to avoid such circumstances? Does it provide adequate training to its employees? Does an employee achieve job satisfaction? All these questions can be answered by an exit interview.
