How is Emotional Intelligence related to success?

The reaction to a particular action is a characteristic of emotional intelligence. It is generally said that women are more sensitive than men hence their emotional quotient is high as they tend to be more expressive. Emotional Intelligence can be an innate quality or developed through practice.

The traits that contribute to your emotional intelligence are several. The way you think or the thought process determines your EI. For example when you incur loss, some may take it harshly and get into acute depression while some may try to amend the mistake and learn from the experience. The vision that you posses can lead to your success.

Your listening capabilities can enhance your EI. Only blabbering and not grasping what others have to say will not improve your EQ( Emotional Quotient). Opinions and suggestions can add to your intelligence as you procure new ideas that are more beneficial and may have not dawned upon you. To listen well is as powerful a means of influence as to talk well and is as essential to all true conversation.

A person who is proficient in guiding and motivating others can be regarded as an emotionally intelligent person. There are people who have High IQ but when you are in an organization, the whole company can progress if all of your employees have harmonious levels of IQ. Thus to ensure that your employees are all at par, it is important to inspire each one of them to do better.

The combination of IQ and EQ is required to make things work. There are people who have excelled in their education and possess high levels of intelligence but are not able to mingle with the crowd. They choose to remain aloof when it comes to interaction. When many people come together and contribute towards a particular organization, it is a must that they all collaborate in administrative decisions and meet a consensus.
