Is management education mandatory to generate an Entrepreneur?

Today's managers need applicable knowledge and skills to navigate their organizations through an ever-changing and dynamic global business environment. As an individual grows within an organization it is imperative at each step forward to add-on qualifications & skills that are commensurate with the role he is assigned. The Management programme is designed to provide managers and professionals with a broad overview of the key concepts, tools and techniques needed to successfully meet the challenges of today's global business environment

When we talk about the management education, we are basically referring to the shaping up of the student to develop the competency and capability either as an intrapreneur (to join and help an organization to grow) or as an entrepreneur (to establish and grow one's own organization). This capability does not necessarily always come from possessing a piece of paper whether called "degree" or "diploma" in Management, but also by means of developing the will & skill to contribute towards the growth of an organization.

In India we have people who successfully run their business without a management degree. They are well equipped with the aptitude to carry on an enterprise because of the experience they gain either from their family-business or by working under a businessman. So it is certain that an MBA is not imperative if you already possess the knowledge and expertise to govern a business but it can’t be denied that when someone learns to blend the management theory and tools with practical insights, the success rates augment. Rather than just acquiring the degree what is more cardinal is to be able to put the knowledge to practical use.
