What do you hold in your hands right now?
Greetings!
I am going to share an interesting story that will help all of us who are in
process of living our dreams daily. This story will help us to sustain our
dreams and infact will STOP us from quitting our dreams. This story is dedicated to "YOU"... Yes Only YOU...
The story is about a wise old hermit who use to live in a log cabin high in the
mountains. He was reputed to know the answer of any question ever brought to
him.
One day two mischievous boys decided to play a trick on the old fellow. They
thought of asking questions which the old fellow could not answer.
By deciding so they shot a blinding light into a sparrow's eyes and quickly
they picked the stunned bird up and made their way to the old man's cabin.
One of them could feel the bird's frightened, fluttering heartbeat in his hand
as he held it snugly. Now, with their hands behind thier backs they would pull
a trick on the old man. They'd say, "What do we have in our hands?"
If he guessed a bird, they'd say, "What kind of a bird?" If he gussed
the sparrow, then they would trap him! They would ask the trick question:
"Tell us, wise one, is it dead or alive? If he said "alive",
they would squeeze the life out of the sparrow and prove him wrong. If he said,
"It's dead". they'd prove him wrong again by simply letting the
little creature fly!
By deciding so they walked up the mountain trail, flashed the ligh on the log
cabin, and knocked the door. They waited nervously, their shaky hands behind
them. The heavy door squeaked slowly open. There stood a huge old man with long
hair and a white beard hanging almost to his waist. He glowered at them through
his narrow eyes and said, "What is it, my boys?"
Excited, they answered, "Sir, wise old man, tell us if you can, what do we
hold in our hands?"
His eyes pierced through them. He waited. Then he spoke, "A bird."
They said, "Well Sir, what kind of bird?"
"A Sparrow." said the old man.
They poked each other. "Tell us, old man, is it dead or alive?
He looked and looked and thought. And finally he spoke, "As you will have
it, my boys!”
What do you hold in your hands right now? Your destiny! Your Future! Is it dead or alive? Your dreams! Are they dead or alive? The answer is: As you will have it, my friends!!!
