WHY IS THE GOVT KEEPING MUM TO THE WOES OF THE PEOPLE IN A RECESSION?
An Employee committed suicide two weeks back. He was to be relieved from his job the next day. Later after a week a Civil Engineer also committed sucide in Bangalore for the same reason.
This is not about keeping or loosing a job. The Centre has done litte to support a collapsing economy. When there was a boom the Government and its servants made lot of revenues in terms of direct / indirect taxes and ever aspect of peoples lives were taxed.
Now is it not fair for the Govenment to help the economy struck country and especially the lower and middle class?
Companies are waiting for Financial year ending to come up with draconian measures. When the economy was growing employees worked endlessly through the day. Now they are looked at with disregard in times of difficulties. Many companys are resorting to labling employees as low performance to acheive their ends by layoffs. If their performance is in question, why were they tolerated at all in the first place? Managements are bending the rules to suit their convenience. Labour department has to get proactive now.
The Government is mum on this too. People are left to fend themselves in our country and politicians are busy making arrangements for their next boom in the parliament. When the country is in recession, is it needed to spend such a huge amount of public money on elections which do not seem to lead us anywhere with the current combination of parties and fronts. Political parties could have come together and worked out an arrangement to defer the elections, if they cared for the common people. The Government and the politicians are careless and apathetic towards the plight of the common people, shedding crocodile tears.
This should be put to an end.
