Cartoons: when we remember it, a smiley face of a graphical character comes in our mind. It can be any one - Mickey, Goofy, Donald, Minnie, Tom & Jerry, Pluto, Pokemon, Shing-chain etc. I was a big fan of cartoons in my childhood & still when I got time I prefer to see cartoons only. Cartoons give an entertainment which cools our mind. It is not like that our Mamma & Daddy can’t see it because it is so childish, means no fix target market. Thanks to Mr. Walt Disney to make animation so popular.

In earlier days of Animation industry, all the work was based on paper only. If a person want to show Tom jumping on Jerry then he had to drawn a number of sketches on paper & then they move it speedily to give it a movie like effect (remember the scene of “Tare Zamee pe” the color book of Ishaan, where he had sketched his whole family with a hut). But now every thing is changed due to the use of high technology. Now we can draw graphics on computers with the help of designing software (Corel, Adobe Illustrator). We can make 3-D images also with AutoCAD & MAX & many more.

In India, Animation industry is coming as a booming sector for career. If you have an imagination power then you can take it as a career. I think if you are not good in pencil sketching then also don’t worry a number of tools are there to draw whatever you want, the only requirement is imagination (thoughts for good design). It says that Mr. Walt Disney got the idea of Mickey Mouse from the playing mouse out side his office.
