HOW TO GET FIRST JOB

My Dear Friends,

My name is Khaja Moinuddin Khan and I graduated in Electrical Engineering from CAHCET (2001-2005). I want to share my thoughts on the first job that any graduate dreams of after completing studies.

Currently, I am working for a Company called Zensar Technologies and am onsite in Johannesburg working as a Team Lead (AS/400team) for one of the clients.

In order to secure your first job, do remember the following:

(1) Aptitude & Attitude

(2) Communication Skills

(3) Confidence Level

(4) Dedication

(5) Perseverance

All the above mentioned parameters are interlinked with each other

Mys incere advice to all of you out there is to focus on the above mentioned parameters starting from the second year of your studies.

My Story

Let me tell you my side of the story of howI faced the problems in securing my first job.

After completing my graduation in May 2005,I left for Bangalore and started my job hunting. After few weeks of attending written test, I came to know how poor I was at Aptitude and Communication skills. The competition was very high (25,000 freshers) attending walk-ins for single digit jobs.

I made a conscious decision to start improving my aptitude by practicing daily for more than 9hrs. During the process of preparation, I missed few opportunities but finally landed in one oft he coveted companies in the IT sector “Infosys Technologies” after struggling for 10 months
