IBMT CELEBRATES FOUNDATION DAY

The Institute of Business Management & Technology, located in south Bangalore on the cross section of high-tech corridor connecting the Bangalore Silicon valley, is a premier institution in management education space. During a short span of ten years the institute has won highest number of meritorious awards in the field of quality of education, innovation and social service. IBMT students have repeatedly swept prizes in all the major Management Fests. Globally, IBMT is connected with a network of 107 B-Schools. A number of international students are currently studying at IBMT. In recent B-school surveys the Institute has been found to be South India’s fastest rising and one of the most admired B-schools in Bangalore.

 

As part of its decennial celebrations the Institute organized a Foundation Day lecture on 4th September at the Hotel Lalit Ashok. The Foundation Day Lecture was delivered by Prof. Joe Philip, President, XIME and known as the father of management education in India. Guest of Honour was Sh K. S. Prabhakara, Secretary, Dept of Revenue, Govt of Karnataka.  Sh. B R Ramegowda, President Bangalore Citizens’ Forum presided over the function. Among other speakers were Dr. Subhash Sharma, Dr. Ushy Mohandas.

 

Vice-Chairman, Sh G K C Reddy, welcomed the students to IBMT and advised them to take advantage of Bangalore’s unique intellectual ecology.

 

Prof. Philip presented the broad picture of challenges and opportunities that India faces in the global arena and the role that management education can play in the emergence of India as the knowledge super power.

 

K S Prabhakara emphasized the strength of character and knowledge to be able to make effective decisions in the trying moments. Dr Subhash Sharma highlighted the management mantras underlying Indian culture and philosophy reflected in symbolism. Ushy Mohandas, in her inimitable style brought ‘Smile’ on the face of everyone in the audience and exhorted the students to realize their ‘Self’. Sh Ramegowda advised the younger generation o imbibe the principles of Gandhiji and join th struggle against social evils.
