IIM-A & IMD in FT Global MBA Rankings 2011

The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, has been ranked No. 11 by Financial Times, London in its Global MBA Rankings 2011.

The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, has been ranked No. 11 by Financial Times, London in its Global MBA Rankings 2011. The ranking, published on 28 January 2011, lists total of 100 B-schools from across the globe.

IIM-A is ahead of big names like University of Chicago-Booth; New York University-Stern; University of Oxford-Said, IMD, Yale.

The other Indian B-schools which have found their place in the FT Global MBA Rankings 2011 are: Indian School of Business, Hyderabad (at No. 13) and SP Jain Center for Management, Dubai and Singapore (at No. 68).

The No.1 rank in the FT Global MBA Rankings 2011 has been taken by London Business School, UK. The other top global B-schools featuring in the rankings are: University of Pennsylvania, Wharton, USA; Harvard Business School, USA; Insead, France/Singapore; Stanford University, USA; MIT Sloan School of Management, USA, to name a few.

FT mentions, “A total of 210 points separate the top school from the school at number 100 in the ranking. The top 10 schools, from the London Business School and University of Pennsylvania: Wharton to Iese Business School, form the leading group of world-class business schools. A total of 41 points separate LBS and Wharton from Iese. The second group is headed by the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, which scored 69 points more than Lancaster University Management School, leader of the third group. The fourth group, which includes schools ranked from number 74 to 100, is headed by Purdue University: Krannert and University of Strathclyde Business School.”

The survey for the Global MBA Rankings was conducted from September to November, 2010.
