Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH), Greater Noida has recorded a significant upturn this year in its placements for the final year students who will pass out in the year 2011. The most note worthy point among the placements which are going on now is the recruitment of 49 students at one stretch by Infosys consultancy in various competency fields.

The highlight of this year’s corporate recruitment activity is that companies are visiting the campus a month earlier than last year with BIMTECH’s first placement coming through on 1st October 2010.

Among the companies recruiting from BIMTECH are Infosys, TCS Wipro, L & T, HCL, HDFC, Public Sector Banks, Zee Telefilms, Tata Group companies, Marico, Future Group, Madura Garments, Aditya Birla Group Companies etc. In addition to IT companies, FMCG, Pharma, Consultancy and Manufacturing companies are visiting the campus.

There has been a 30 percent rise in the compensation levels offered to the students. So far approximately 30 per cent of the final year students have already been placed with some of the well known companies.

Speaking to Siliconindia.com on the recruitments this year, Dr. Harivansh Chaturvedi, Director, BIMTECH said, “I would like to congratulate our Centre for Corporate Relations (CCR) cell for being in touch with some of the top notch organization. This is the outcome of all the rigorous efforts put in by our placement cell to bring out the best for our students.”

On responding to a question, “Does this early placements signifies that there is an urgent need of Quality MBAs in the Industry?”  Dr. Chaturvedi remarked that, “There is a craving for talent in the market and companies want to recruit the most skilled work force as early as possible.”

The recruiters have generally expressed their satisfaction with the knowledge and soft skill competencies of BIMTECH’s students. This recruitment is so far the highest campus placement in the B-schools in and around Greater Noida.
