Nostalgic moments come alive at FMS
It was a mix of young and old management graduates who shared their experiences and relived their nostalgic moments at the BHU Management Alumni Association (BHUMAA) Meet that took place on Friday.
While for Sharad Mehra, MBA pass-out in 1996, visiting the faculty (FMS) was like coming back home, for others like Vinay Nangia, head, department of management studies, IIT Roorkee, who represented one of the oldest MBA batches in 1970s in the university, it was inspiring to see the faculty growing by leaps and bounds.
"In our days, there was not much exposure for students. But, still, the energy of the students was enough to help them excel in life. The faculty was still new at the university and those were the days of growth and development. We enjoyed our stay at the hostel that was shared with the commerce students," recalled Nangia.
While nearly 20 alumni of 1971 MBA batch were invited to the meet, Sharad Mehra, chief operating officer of one of leading lifestyle apparel and garments company, claimed to be the youngest in the group. "I passed out in 1996 and by then FMS had a separate hostel that gave enough freedom to its students. I still remember the colourful Holi that we played and celebrated with our batchmates and juniors. We used to dump them in pool in which we had mixed colour. We also enjoyed 'thandai' on Asi Ghat and the serene atmosphere near the ghat was something I missed at other places," he added while sharing his nostalgic moments with TOI.
