RMAT: The door for entry to best B-schools of Rajasthan
Apart from the national level MBA entrance exams, such as CAT, XAT, FMS, IIFT, there are many state level MBA entrance exams that provide the opportunity to MBA aspirants to fulfill their dream of pursuing a good MBA programme. The serious MBA aspirants should take both the national as well as the state level MBA entrance exams to strengthen their chances of getting admission to a MBA programme of an institute of repute.

Continuing with the exclusive series on the upcoming state level MBA entrance exams, we present to you today the complete details of Rajasthan Management Aptitude Exam (RMAT). RMAT is conducted by Rajasthan University, Jaipur. It is generally conducted in June every year.
Exam Pattern
RMAT is a paper pencil based exam of 2.5 hours duration. There are five sections of the exam. These are: English Language Proficiency, Mathematical Ability, Data Analysis and Interpretation, Reasoning and Aptitude and General Awareness. There are total 200 questions in the paper, 40 in each section. Each question carries one mark and there is no negative marking.
Highlights of RMAT 2010
The RMAT 2010 paper was easy to moderate in nature. The English Proficiency section was easy. There was only one Reading Comprehension passage. There were also questions on synonyms, antonyms, fill in the blanks, sentence correction etc. The Mathematical Ability questions were moderate in nature. It examined the hold on the concepts of the exam takers. There were questions on Ratios, Proportions, Percentages, Profit and Loss, Ages, Distance, Speed and Time, Averages.
The Data Analysis & Interpretation section was easy to attempt. It had questions on line and bar graphs, pie chart and grids. Reasoning & Aptitude section questions were a little tough. The questions were mainly based on Visual reasoning, Blood Relations, Number Series and Symbols. There were questions based on Analogies and Arrangements. There were some questions which combined the concept of probability.
The General Awareness section was easiest among all. There were questions based on current affairs rather than static general knowledge. Questions related to next Olympics, F.I.F.A. etc were asked.
Eligibility
The applicants should be from Rajasthan Domicile only. To apply for RMAT, the candidate should be a graduate with minimum 50 per cent aggregate. Candidates in final year of graduation can also apply provided they fulfill the eligibility criteria after completing their graduation and at the time of the admission.
Institutes Accepting RMAT Scores
The B-schools under Rajasthan University accept the RMAT scores. Some of the noted institutes are R A Poddar Institute of Management, Jaipur; FMS Udaipur; IILM Jaipur; JILM Jaipur.
Estimated Date of the Exam
RMAT 2010 was held on Sunday, May 23. The announcement for RMAT 2011 is expected in early 2011.
