CAT 2010 Ends: Overall Analysis On Exam
CAT 2010 has been better than CAT 2009; with no glitches, is the opinion of many candidates who took CAT across the country.
CAT 2009 was held for 10 days and number of test takers in 2009 was 2, 46, 000, whereas CAT 2010 is being taken by 2, 04, 000 candidates and the test was held for 20 days as no test was conducted on festivals and other occasions.
Although the pattern of the test has been the same which had 60 questions, with 20 questions in each section, the difficulty level of the CAT 2010 test paper has been moderate in nature as compared to that of CAT 2009, which was rated as easy to moderate. Some of the sections of CAT 2010, such as DI, Quant and Verbal Ability have been rated trickier and more time consuming than CAT 2009.
Section wise analysis of CAT 2010
- Quantitative Analysis was rated easy to moderate level, covering all topics.
- Data Interpretation was moderate in difficulty level and students felt it was lengthy and tiring.
- Verbal Ability was Easy with 3 Reading Comprehension passages and other sentence completion questions.
Overall CAT Performance was a good show this time with no technical glitches as 2009.
The average number of attempts in CAT 2010 have been around 42 to 45 and in each section attempts from 12 to 15 should be good for making the cut off.
CAT results are expected to be out on 12 January 2011(Wednesday)
