President Pratibha Patil inaugurates new campus of TAPMI
Honourable President of India Mrs. Pratibha Patil inaugurated the new campus of TAPMI (T.A.Pai Management Institute) today, 9 December 2010, in Manipal, Karnataka.
The President unveiled the Plaque in three languages (Hindi, English and Kannada) and planted a sapling symbolizing the inauguration. The inauguration was also attended by Mr. H.R. Bhardwaj, Governor of Karnataka and Dr. V.S. Acharya, Minister for Higher Education, Planning and Statistics, Government of Karnataka. Chairman and Members of TAPMI Trust and Governing Council were also present at the event.
Speaking about the inauguration Dr. Saji Gopinath, Director, TAPMI said, “The strong infrastructure and intellectual strength of faculty in teaching, research and consulting set apart TAPMI from the breed of B-Schools that are mushrooming all over the country. TAPMI is one of the very few Private Business Schools in the country to have such a large and serene campus which provides the right ambience for high quality education”.
The campus will be used for TAPMI’s AICTE approved PGDM programmes in management and new programmes such as the two year residential PGDM in Healthcare Management and e-Governance Program for Executives (e-GPX).
The 42 acre campus is equipped with state of the art facilities required for imparting high quality management education and has a built up area of over 1.2 lakh sq ft covering the Academic Building with 10 classrooms, Knowledge Centre, and residential facility for over 600 students and faculty.
The campus is Wi-Fi enabled and has a modern computer centre. The campus library is open 24/7 and has 33,000 books, 285 journals and 17 online databases in addition to Harvard publications (HBS). 5000 bound volumes of business and general magazines since 1984 have also been preserved in the library along with Project Reports spanning 25 years, Faculty working papers and other publications.
