Hi to one and all, budding journalists and the recently budded ones too. This blog, to be turned soon into a fully functional interactive website, is being done with an intention to spread my own experience and experiences in the exciting and exacting field of journalism. In this game of never-ending ideation, field work and sometimes boring but definitely cannot-do-without durgdery, often we discover that what we learnt in schools, colleges and text books (even at media schools) is actually either of little or no use or worse, redundant.
My own journalistic journey began from a 24X7 news agency, Press Trust of India and it passed through The Hindu, The Sunday Observer and The Hindustan Times. During this phase one has had the chance to dabble and deal with a multitude of exciting subjects, people and issues -- ranging from social to economic to political.
With this wealth of experience, I have stepped into the field of blogging to share whatever I have learnt with the surfers. Though, the blog title is self explantory, the budding journalists and media professionals can contact me for ideation and execution of those ideas into credible, powerful and interesting media products.
Interactions always enrich all the parties involved. I too am looking forward to interesting and enriching conversations with you. Those who want specific tutoring and long-range regular idea dose are welcome to log in. At the moment, I am specialising in Economic and Business journalism and working on a thesis leading to, hopefully, a book on Post-reforms Business and Economic Journalism in India: A step by step guide to the aspiring journalist.
