Mac MTS to FCPX converter 20% off - Convert Sony HD Camera MTS files into FCPX
"If I check the storage volume myself and go into the BDMV/STREAMS directory, I can see all my .MTS files; the Sony example clip is also there. They all seem to play fine (e.g. in VLC) but they can’t be used in FCPX directly. Now I know I can repackage this file into a file that FCPX can import, but surely it must be possible for FCPX to import the files directly? Am I missing something?”
I use Sony HD cams in various flavors.I always convert MTS files with Foxreal Video Converter for Mac. To my understanding you cannot use MTS directly in FCP X. Foxreal Video Converter for Mac is fast and produces very high quality video in AIC conversion mode. I have a ton of MTS files that I bring into FCP X this way and it works great. Sony Vegas Pro works directly with MTS files, but not a lot of other NLEs do.
Step 1: Run Foxreal Video Converter for Mac as the perfect MTS to AIC Converter and add the AVCHD .mts files from your Sony HD Camera into this program.
Step 2: Choose Apple Intermediate Codec (AIC) format to export for FCPX.
Click on the “Format” option, you could easily select “QuickTime Movie Format < Apple Intermediate Codec (AIC) (*.mov)” as the output format.
Step 3: Start converting AVCHD to Apple Intermediate Codec (AIC) format for FCPX by clicking on the “Convert” button.
Once the AVCHD conversion is done, you are able to transfer and import AVCHD footage to FCPX for edting without rendering.
That’s all! Hope the article will be of great help for you to export MTS to Apple Intermediate Codec for FCPX in a simple way.
