The Roommate
Numerous movies involving psychopathic themes have already been produced many times before.
The Roommate, a suspense drama thriller by Christian E. Christiansen, is a remake of the 1992’s Single White Female. The story revolves around Sara, who is starting her college life at ULA and meets her new roommate, Rebecca who become close to her. The tight relationship of the two roommates was put to an end when Rebecca turns out to be extremely possessive to Sara, revealing her undisclosed psychiatric background.
To those movie goers who are hooked into thriller films, this will most likely dissatisfy them. The Roommate is a bland and dreary suspense screenplay, with several unoriginal scenes that makes it too cliché and predictable that the viewers can easily guess what’s going to happen next.
There are many subplots that puzzled the audience along their viewing, just like the enraged encounter of Rebecca and her old friends in their hometown. It is a hanging episode that is inadequately supplied making it a senseless portion of the movie.
The only highlight in this movie would be the female lead actors Leighton Meester and Minka Kelly. Their acting performance is satisfactory and adequate. Although they had their twilight moments during the movie, the poorly constructed storyline and the unconvincingly written dialogue pulled them down. Watch movie news on Digitalfreedom.
Unfortunately, the rest of the cast was left into oblivion. The suspense drama thriller that supposedly gives chills and heart-pounding moments fails to create an impact and appeal making it less recommendable to the viewers.
