Budget S U C Kssss- The Power of a PowerleSsss Nation

Election bigul is over and look what, we have come with a superb budget as a gift to public which actually offers lot of things (as per the view of FM Pranab Mukherjee)

My view is a little different, why lets analyse this.........

The biggest surprise for me was the power sector where I found not even a single announcement made by the FM. From the last 10 years there has not been a single unit increase in power supply, NOT EVEN A SINGLE UNIT. What a benchmark this is???. Tell me any country in the world that can survive the stage of development without the increase in power supply. The higher the development, the higher would be the demand for power and greater has to be the supply. but unfortunately budget has nothing in this regard.

Moreover the prices have shoot up like a shining rocket. In last ten years prices have risen by 90% and power supply by 0 %. Despite all this, capital continues to be in the grip of power Crisis. All the promises of Sheila's government and her spokesperson's remain worthless. The condition is much worse in other states.

Even today, we face more than 4-12 hours of electricity cuts despite of higher prices paid to the private companies. Are these companies not liable to pay us the compensation??

  • Too many large concessions were granted to favoured bidders and all of these would ultimately have to be paid by consumers and taxpayers.
  • Tariffs include an annual depreciation charge of 6.83%, which has to be paid by the consumers.
  • The GENCO is allowed to charge about Rs 2.50 per unit from the TRANSCO. TRANSCO then sells the power for Rs 1.47 to DISCOMs. This means TRANSCO has to sell electricity below the purchasing price. The loss is born by the government and so by the taxpayers.
  • Further, instead of creating competition between DISCOMs, the privatisation process led to the creation of private monopolies. two different firms were supplying power to two different markets, so there exists no competition only monopoly.
So forth, the concepts of the earlier FM P Chidambaran haven't contain anything to improve this ongoing mess and the same tradition continues in this budget also. We are forced to pay more and get less. Exorbitant electricity bills continue till date and so forth power cuts.

Many analysts argue that the budget has a lot for the rural people. Greater packages, bigger schemes etc to give a push to the rural sector. But if you take my opinion, this is just mouthing of hypocritical platitudes about how your heart beats for bharat.

If you remember, when Mr Chidambaram was the FM there was announcement of 60000 Cr waiver in Bundelkhand once the ruling place of great warrior Rani Jhansi. The party (especially Rahul Gandhi) seems to be very happy as this would have open their ways to victory in next general elections and that actually happened (seeing the congress thumping victory).

Butttttttttt...... how many you know that this waiver couldn't save bundelkhand from the misery it is sufefreing ffrom last 10 years. The people are suffering an anatomy of slow death.

As the UPA members thump their desks the Ex FM Chidambaram grandly announces " The National Rural Guarantee Scheme nad the Mid Day meal scheme are the most powerful tools of empowerment for the schedule castes and tribes". More money will be pumped into NREGs and other schemes and thousands of relief packages for farmers and poors ( as also announced by Current FM Pranab Mukherjee).

But unfortunately none of them knows the story of Chunilal in Azadpur village (Lalitpur district) who died out of starvation, Padui in Banda who commit sucide because of inability to repay loans, babloo whose grandmother died of hunger, knows she could have survived if his school gave him the mid day meal as promised. Feudalism and a completely rotten and corrupt system have ensured the grandiose system like NREGs and mid day meal scheme merely go in the pockets of contractors, politicians and bureaucrats. No one has green job cards, they were always with the village head or with the contractor and if they have there is no work. Last 10 years Bundelkhand has no water. The whole area is dependent on agriculture and guess what no water no crop, no crop no income, no income no food, no food only death. Tell me can this 60000 cr waiver save Bundelkhand...........

The "banker to every Indian" is also not far from this deadly trap. Confused, i am talkng about the SBI. Bhairo, resident of Pach pera village in Mahoba district was fooled by the SBI branch manager who colludes with the local agent and pursuades him to take a tractor loan. He got the tractor but never got the registration number. Everyone knows he was incapable to repay loan as he was merely a wage labourer. I hope u all know FM is the largest shareholder.

this is the story of few villages, if you go beyond Every second village in India

  • Stalked by the specture of death
  • Debt and death lance together
  • Poverty and hunger still exists
  • Insidious voilence of modernity

Pranab Mukherjee has followed the steps of P Chidambaram by wooing every single category that forms a substantial vote bank for any political party. Right from rural reforms to tax concessions, modernising of madarassas etc all aim at the vote bank and not development. Every budget has now become an election budget to woo the communities.

Seriously speaking tell me, is their anything for the general and middle class people in this budget. For the government, general people have no voices, no apprehensions and their expectations don't need to be taken into voter related calculations. Thus, there is no reduction in corporate tax, MAT increased by 5% and adding more services to tax like Law consultants. For them we are just the bank lockers (looto and maze lo) because we don't give vote.

Time by time we are being fooled, and you know why because we give them the chance. For them we are just nuisance creatures who are creeping on this earth just to fulfill their empty stomachs with loads of money.

Have you ever look at a FM standing in Parliament making such casual statements " GDP today is 6.5 %, Our projection is 8% by 2011 but I am still worried whether we would be able to achieve this figure".

Wow what a great statement, Mr FM let me tell you China is surpassing the growth rate of 8% and you are still roaming around 6%.

Whats there for the market, the sensex that welcomes the UPA with a record shoot of 2000 points. There is no job security for employees, no pf, no mediclaim, in boon they are looked after and in depression they are thrown out by brokers. Why there are no measures to make a permanent bull market? Why we still are dependent on foreign investors? Why?????

There is a need of equity culture in country, lets make the equity education compulsary at secondry level. When there can be Rural employment and other packages of crores of rupees to handle poverty ( though hardly 20% actually reach the poor) than why can't there be Investment fund at national level where contributions should be made by government, general public, professional and every person who wished and the money contributed should be made 100 % tax free. This money can than be used to revive the market in event of crash. Why there are no steps to bring black money of worth 2500000 crores back to the country???

For UPA the budget seems to be fantastic. India will become superpower because this is a country where NON VOTING INTELLECTUALS CRITICIZED FEW EDUCATED DYNAMIC LEADERS

A COUNTRY WHICH WAS ATTACKED, LOST DAREDEVILS, WHERE PRIDE WAS COMPROMISED

ICONS BURN (Hotel Taj, Mumbai), HUNDREDS DIE

The HOME MINISTER (ShivRaj Patil) wasted the whole night in getting his suit ironed and escaped simply by giving resignation.

citizens conduct meaningless candle marches and send angry SMSs

None of them knew the exact toll of death, DO YOU KNOW?????

Do you think the uneducated people you elect can improve your life.............They only understand vote bank
