Research on monkeys shows that even a small experience of unfairness can trigger anger.  In an experiment monkeys in cages were trained to hand over rocks in exchange for slices of cucumbers.  The monkeys happily traded rocks for food till the time researchers favored few monkeys with juice grapes.  The slighted monkeys reacted.  “They would take the cucumber and throw it on the ground or would simply turn around and refuse to accept cucumbers”

Human too detest unfair treatment rather we want to punish people who treat us unfairly.  In an experiment your partners is given let’s say USD 40 and he has one chance to offer you a portion of this money.  If you reject it, you both go home with empty pockets.  For example if your partner offers you USD 1 and you reject that offer, both of you receive nothing.  Economist theory says that you should accept USD 1 because logic says that you both will go home richer by accepting the offer rather than refusing the unfair offer.  But on the contrary people in these studies routinely reject unfair offers.  Like monkeys humans too retaliate when they feel they have been treated unjustly.  In one of the studies participants turned down lowball offer even when offered amount was equivalent to their 3 months income.

The  studies reflects that lowball offers activate the insula in the brain that is involved in releasing negatives emotions of disgust and pain.  And more powerful the response in insula, the more likely is that the participant will reject the offer. ( Source The Brain Advantage )

Now the question is are you fair to yourself?

Are you feeding your mind the good literature?

Are you feeding your mouth the healthy food?

Are you feeding your body the regular exercise?

If not, your body will revolt sooner than later.  Treat yourself fairly
