Why did I get The Associate Dean as my faculty guide?.One can never get an answer YES in one go from him, he is a tough customer to handle. Writing case on Innovation management and relating it to the electronic bikes, a tough job ahead. A serious thinking was going on how to get our case approved.

What is Innovation? Why is innovation a necessary? There were the questions running in my mind when I sat down for writing an article. Why should I define Innovation? The definition can be easily obtained just by one click in the internet. Let me be different I will explain everything in an example.
As all of us know industrial automation has made production simple and error free. The Soap manufacturing industry had some problems with the automated machines.
The Soap cake that comes from the conveyor belt gets inserted into a cover and gets sealed automatically. There were complaints from the dealers that there were empty covers in the packed carton with no soap cakes in it. To avoid such errors the company employed a person to check if the soap cake is in the cover or not by pressing each and every soap packed. This became a monotonous job for him and felt bored all the time.
He brought a table fan over to the Checking counter and made the fan run at its speed. The empty covers were blown away by the force of air. Innovation happened in the process and reduced the job cost.
Innovation may happen due to a necessity or may happen accidentally. Innovations in the products keep the products alive and profitable.
