Mirror, Mirror on the wall. Whos the fairest of them all ?
I don’t think I’ve to say a single word now to tell you all what I’m talking about here. Yes, Snow White it is. My joys knew no bounds when I got to know that HBO India is soon going to show the blockbuster flick, ‘Mirror Mirror’. I was quite a fan of ‘Snow White and Seven Dwarfs’ stories during my early childhood days. And this punch line ‘Mirror Mirror on the wall!’…I can’t even remember how many times I used to recite it while playing the evil queen, though Snow White had always been my favourite character.
And now as I heard the news of HBO India showcasing the best of the English movies under ‘HBO Blockbuster of the Month’, I’m delighted to share it with you all that May is up for ‘Mirror Mirror’. Yuhoooo! I caught this English movie last year on-screens and I’m more than happy to catch it again on TV now.
The best thing about this movie is Oscar Award winning Julia Roberts. I was quite impressed with her villainous role as the evil queen. I’ve not seen her in many evil roles. So, I was kind of apprehensive when I came to know that she was going to play the evil queen. But as we all know she is a superb actress, she has just rocked it like anything. Amazed, I am.
I read in the papers that earlier Roberts was not at all interested in this role and considered it terrible. But thanks to the director, Tarsem Singh, she got convinced. I don’t think nobody could have replaced her. And the fun fact is that 'Mirror Mirror' is the first flick that made Julia’s children aware that their mother was a famous film actress. Laugh out loud! I think instead of the princess, I’m more excited to watch the evil queen. That’s odd. But then it’s Julia Roberts we are talking about!
And the exciting thing about the film is here we have the Prince Charming too who sweeps Snow White off her feet and helps her in regaining her kingdom. Now how cute is that! That seems to give impetus to this fairy tale thingy. All in all, a fairy tale which I am all set to relive! The movie hasn’t lost that forever charm at all.
I just can’t wait to watch it. And all of you, if you want to catch this fantastic movie, tune in to HBO on 19th May at 1pm. They are also going to have a repeat telecast of it at 9pm on the same day. I’m so glad and so thankful! Can’t wait to watch it!
