HTC Ruby Release with Samsung Hercules with 42Mbps Speed in October
4.3-inch Screen
It seems that HTC really loves huge screen. After it bring the Smartphone into the 4-inch screen era, does it aim at 5-inch Smartphone in the end, after it announced the 4.7-inch huge screen Smartphone HTC Bass a few days ago. However, we see a modest 4.3-inch screen with natively qHD (960x540) resolution on HTC Ruby, which is particularly fit for web users and movie fans. Like other newly released phones such as HTC Raider 4G, it will have the new Sense 3.5 UI, which makes a few optimization of the original Android UI and will occupy less RAM. There will be a quick launch unit in Sense 3.5. It features a minimized weather, clock and 5 shortcuts. Under each shortcut, there is a little drawer, where users can put in certain apps and notifications.
1.5GHz dual-core processor, 8M camera
HTC Ruby will have a major hardware upgrade by adopting the 1.5GHz Qualcomm dual-core processor. The embedded Adreno 220 graphics card has several times performance than previous versions like Andreno 205 and will ensure more standout layout in 3D games and HD movies.
To bring more fluent operating experience, HTC Ruby will be equipped with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and two cameras: the 8MP primary camera with dual LED, auto focus and 1080p HD video capturing; and the 2MP front camera for video calling.
42Mbps high speed network
HTC Ruby will be running on Android 2.3 system and support DC-HSPA+ network, which means a theoretically possibility of 42Mbps data transfer speed. That is really fast! According to reports, the other HTC device, HTC Raider 4G will support 4G network, whose speed is as fast as 8Mbps to 10Mbps, proves inferior by comparison. Other features like Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi, GPS and DMB digital TV will be seen on this device. Besides, HTC Watch function is introduced to HTC Ruby, which makes it possible to watch the movie while still downloading.
The HTC Ruby has another name – HTC Amaze 4G, which will also be released in Canada besides T-mobile. Though no official release date is revealed, reports say it will hit the market together with Samsung Galaxy S2 Hercules in October 26.
