If you own an Hp printer and there isn’t space in disc c one day, you uninstalled it to free some space and reinstalled it, the printer is installed but the hp printer drivers were never recognized. You can’t set the USB port to get the printer work properly. If you are positive that there is nothing wrong with the wire, then do you know what the matter is and how to fix the issue so the printer can function again? Here are some analysis and possible fixes.

1.Could be setting issue
Double click the printer icon in“printer and fax”, when the dialogue appears, select the first item “printer”and read the drop down box.

Note:
There should be a tick before “default printer”. If there are ticks before “use printer offline” “pausing printing”, remove them, there shouldn’t be any.

2. Incorrect USB port
Right click “printer icon”-“property”-“usb port”, if the USB printer default LTP1, change it to USB00**(**is your “printer model”).

Note:
If there is no item like “printer model”, that means the hardware is not recognized, thus you need to restart the computer and reinstall the hp printer driver.

3. Other possibilities
If issue still exists, please click “delete the printer”, then restart computer and reinstall the printer drivers.
