Developing Self for a Globally Competitive Scenario
Many Businesses are coming up with the strategy of bieng amalgamated or affiliated with other Businesses in the form of Mergers or Acquisitions or Joint Ventures and this requires some of the people to be constantly be in touch with different people who are not even slightly aware of the way the company and its Informal groupism works and in order to improve the Business development and the overall development of the organization in terms of Workability as well as the management comfortability index there needs a systematized scope for the employees to be very much comfortable to change and coming out of the box (in other words.. being more comfortable in different environments). According to the latest HR Statistics by McKinsey, there was a drop in the PI (Performance Index) of the employees who were less compatible with changes in the Organizational Structure after Mergers and Acquisitions and the same was seen when certain employees who had been posted at one location for a period of more than 3 years had to change their base to another location. This gives us the idea of how it is a Human Tendency to resist to change but the fact is that with the advent of new business practices, there is an acute need of people who can accept change easily.
(Behavioral Note: If the same employees had changed a job and hence the location. The change in the PI was either nil or minimal).
This kind of a fact should be a base or foundation for the education system to incorporate the different ways to make people ready for major changes (EXAMPLE: A Management Student can be made to change classes or batches to be able to have a new perspective at a different location with a different environment). Such practices can bring about a very good change and development of the individuals skills.
