Intra-entrepreneurship: build orgs with entrepeneurs, not employees!
It cannot be denied that everyone has an entrepreneur inside. While in some cases it could be shackled with circumstances, in others, it could simply be slumbering because of not being shaken enough with the force of aspirations. Companies, esp., the start-ups that anyway offer greater degree of freedom and opportunities to explore, experiment and innovate, should start giving some importance to both, long term and short term aspirations of its employees. Chances are…that companies will end up identifying some potential key contributors for organizational success in the process. Enterprise and entrepreneurship can be encouraged within the organization at multiple levels by having employees open up about their aspirations/ plans/ growth objectives in 2-5 or10 years down the line. Individual aspirations can be allotted some space on appraisal forms to make this happen. Who knows...you might find a Larry or a Bill writing codes or doing QA in your own organization!
