Dark side in Hr

 HR is one of the major functional area in management we can’t deny its role in emerging business scenario.

Role of the Hr start from [personnel planning] Recruitment and a never ending process.Human resource is the real assets full with lot of potential and an effective HR manager knows how to deal with them efficiently.

 On paper it’s interesting to read the role, function, duties/responsibility of Hr manager but in real practice there is a dark side also.

Hr is the person who provides pillars and strong backup to the organization in form of human capital but required a healthy treatment. Now days it’s loosing employee trust because of few unfair operations.

 The mal practices in HR-

 Idle HR policies-

Hr policies play a key role in employee retention; it must not be only demonstrated but should be taken into practices.

 Even in the large organization Hr policies still remain on papers, for example TRANSFER POLICY  in many organization its offered to employee that they can chose any location after one year if the company having the operation at that area, what its found that on the completion of prescribed limit, employee asked for transfer HR refused to do that irrelevance of its impact on employee performance, motivation and moral will definitely go down, some time it can be result into employee turnover and influenced the perception of other member about the company loyalty.  

Unfair practices-

Hr practices just oppose the open door policy employee afraid to share their problems and other unethical operations are running in the organization by the group member or seniors, because nothing is confidential and end of the day you will suffer. There is no use of open door policy if the employees are not confident enough that the info will remain confidential.

 Biasness in appraisal/promotion-

 In some cases not even your recruitment but your appraisal/promotion depends on link, your engagement with the top management or seniors. You have to put extra efforts to make them happy for his you must have to developed strong interpersonal skills, some daru party etc, if you are able to build and maintain good relation then you can get some favor from your senior.

 Insufficient training

 Training is one of the important functional areas, but mainly in small organization the role of the training is mostly negligible or much retracted, even the newcomers have to work under the target pressure with insufficient training and anticipated to meet the target, without the understanding of its vision, work culture,  strategies, policies, market etc.

in retail sector where training matter a lot and employees work under lots of pressures and meeting target mostly depends on the associates level, trainers come only once or twice in a  month  just for formality.

 Moreover you all must be well aware from the unethical operation of the consulting firm.
