4 Tools to enhance your productivity at work

Are you less talented, efficient or productive than your colleague? Are you spending time searching, organizing and presenting information, while your colleagues do the same work in lesser time?
Today technology and gadgets are becoming an integral part of our life. Below are 4 tools which I have been using at work, and strongly recommend you use them too, to save time and increase productivity.
1.Mind Manager: In our day to day life we are flooded with overwhelming amount of content, communication and information usually through emails, presentations, chats, disscussions etc. that hinders productivity and creativity.
It is very important to organize this content, information and ideas optimally. Mind manager is one such product that I use to organise my thoughts around a central theme. It is useful for me, when I have to visually explain my idea, concept, communication by creating a tree diagram.
The plus point is that it can be integrated with Microsoft outlook, Powerpoint and can also be launched as an interactive slide show and much more.

2. Google calender and SMS reminder: There are events, dates, occations and meeting schedules to remember, that sometimes we end up remembering about it at the last moment or forget about it completely, if we have busy schedules. I use the Google calender to sort my schedule and keep a check on it. I simply enter the information in the time slots and set up an email/mobile alert to remind me of the activity some time before.
I often send inviations and track the guests’ RSVP. It is an easy tool, integrated with my email account and I get to share my calender with my colleagues, family etc.
It can be integrated with Microsoft outlook and can be accessed offline too.

3. Auto hot key: If you write/reply many mails in a day or you create lots of documents or into writing, then ‘Auto hot Key’ is for you. Auto hot key is a simple scripting tool through which you can automate virtually any task on Windows.
For example in most of my emails, I would write Hello, Trust you are doing well, or have to type my address on some . With Auto hot key, I have assigned codes, so when I type tuv in the document/ email the entire line Hello, Trust you are doing well, types out replacing tuv.
I have been able to automate most of my repeated lines in my emails/communications. I am sure you can save more than one third of your time using Auto hot key while writing content.

4. Everything search engine: You must have face this situation often where you spent significant time in locating file or folder in your computer. For this puprpose Everything is a great tool to locate the files and folders by filename instantly on you computer. It is much better than Windows search because Everything, initially displays all the files and folder on your computer, instantly. I often download, save documents on my computer without sorting and was always at wits end to find that document when needed but not till I discovered Everything.
Everything is like having ‘Google Instant’ for your computer.
