iPad vs iPad 2 : iPad 2 specs

Both models are approximately the same size (the newer model is thinner and lighter).  Both models use the same operating system.

The iPad 2 is theoretically twice as fast. It also has 2 cameras, while the original has 1. The new model has a 3-d gyroscope vs the original's 2-d gyroscope.

Is the new iPad worth it? It is worth it if the new features are useful or desireable to you. If you won't utilize them, there isn't really a good reason to upgrade at this point.

The iPad 2 display is 9.7 inches; the display is very very good and clear. However, it is not easy to see in bright sunlight, this can be an issue if you're going to use it outside a lot. The screen is also not easy to keep clean if you have oily hands.The resolution is 1024 x 768.

It is very portable and easy to transport; a variety of cases are available for this tablet computer.

The iPad compared to iPad 2 is easy to summarize.

Unless you need the cameras or the increase speed, keep your old iPad. Apple only waited 11 months to release the new model; your current one is barely broken in. Keep your current computer, the iPad 3 should be out in early 2012 anyway.
