It has been a good time pass to watchIPL matches so far. I try to catch up all the 8 pm starts. Hoping weather godsstay away at least in the later part of the tournament. Nothing could havematched the atmosphere if it was held in India. With Security being such aprime factor it is good they moved it out of India.

Some randomn observations

Extraaaaaaaaaa Stuff

Cricket esp T20 doesnt need very highprofile show hosts for extraaaaaaaa innings. Whoever is the customedesigner for that person "a big thumbs down". T20 doesnt needeven the cheer girls. Way it goes soon we are going to find guys with 8 packsor barebody and standing infront of camera's and doing the shows.

Citi moment of success

I am really irked at the way they mixup sports with sponsors. I am not sure whether the IPL has instructed peoplelike Bhogle (one of the finest commentators in this era) to say DLF Max insteadof six. What crap is that? Sponsor names should stay away proper cricketingterminology. I dont want to hear about a vodafone wicket, pepsi cover drive,coca cola single or orbit boundary. This kills the game. Even in theprestigious EPL, the football commentators call it a goal and not Barclays goalor E-On (FA Cup sponsors)Freekick etc etc.

Owners

The focus should be always on thehead coach, players and the owners. Everytime a player hits a boundary, insteadof showing the team players the camera focuses on the owners. Another aspect isthe interview with these owners (shilpa shetty,shah rukh or ambanis). Theyreally dont know what to answer for example in an interview, Shilpa shetty says"she bought the club because her dad was cricket fantatic". Truth is you make a lot of money by owning clubs.Only in our country, aperson who has never played cricket happens to be BCCI president, soon ICCpresident hopeful. People who havent played cricket run the game. I am notagainst the fact that actors or others should own clubs. It is a businessventure for them. Yes they can but the focus should be given to head coach andteam and not the owners. When you relate with soccer clubs not many wouldknow who owns ManU,Liverpool,Chelsea etc.

I would support a team for itsplayers and not for its owner!
