Swine flu is a disease caused by influenza A virus in pigs and
rarely occurs in humans. It affects people who are in direct contact
with pigs. The strain A virus which comes from H1N1 subtype currently
affects human even if they do not having any contact with pigs. The
World Health Organization (WHO) calls it pandemic influenza A (H1N1).
Symptoms of swine flu are similar to those of seasonal flu symptoms like fever, runny nose, cough, sore throat, body ache, headache, vomiting, diarrhea etc. Young adults, older children and people who are battling liver problems, neuromuscular disorders, blood disorders including Sickle cell disease and many more are at a high risk of Swine flu. Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have stated that there are 5,469 people in the U.S are affected by Swine flu and 6 of them have died so far.
