Master Degree in Computer Application (MCA) at the University of Pune
The University of Pune is offering a three years’ full time Master of Computer Applications (MCA) course. The University of Pune is approved by AICTE, Government of India. MCA is a course designed especially to meet the IT requirements of IT trained students for various organizations.
MCA is a well-balanced course which gives importance to planning, designing and building of complex commercial application software and system software. This course gives equal importance on the functional knowledge in various areas. The application of this course include areas like transaction processing (such as stock exchange order processing, banking) simulation, e-commerce, design support and data communications, database management, embedded technologies, networking etc.
Eligibility criteria:
The candidates applying for this course must be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized University with an aggregate score of 50 per cent for open and 45 per cent for reserved category respectively. Candidates must have Mathematics as a subject in 10+2 or any one year of graduation.
Internship Program:
Students have to go through a project on Industrial Training in the 6th Semester of their course for a period of four months i.e. from December to March. The training would be mainly focused on software development in either commercial application or systems. The project should be aimed at executing all analysis, designing and programming tools that have been learnt in the course curriculum.
Admission Procedure:
Eligible candidates seeking admission to this MCA course must take the common entrance test MH-CET conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State Government or on the other hand, they can take the Institute level Entrance Exam conducted by the Management Association of MCA Institutes.
