IIM Calcutta, IIM Ahmedabad jointly holds discussion on Future of Management Education
Since significant changes in an environment in which organizations operate in the future you must look at the way in which management education in India is ignored. Then a series of conferences is planned for the state of storage management education in India. Objectives of these conferences would be to disseminate the results in a broad sense to start a national debate on what should be done to reform the management of training, to make it more relevant and respond to emerging needs of the nation. The discussions were conducted by a team of faculty from IIM Calcutta and IIM Ahmedabad, and the faculty of business schools in the United States.
The first conference of this series on the campus of IIM Ahmedabad in July brought together the leaders in management education for a two-day conclave to discuss various aspects of management education to make education more relevant to the the needs of emerging economies. It was agreed that the conference would be followed by a series of conferences on specific issues arising from discussions in which deliberation is necessary.
The second conference of this series is scheduled to be held at IIM Calcutta campus during October 14-15, the conference will focus 2011.This on "Meeting the Challenges of Globalization". In a world of increasingly integrated, management must be able to formulate effective strategies for their organizations in the world and be able to manage teams of people who come from very different economic and cultural.
Business schools have tried to teach these skills in different ways:
Increasing the percentage of international students and teachers at school
Increasing the content of courses around the world - as well as functional and discipline-based
By creating a comprehensive integrated management course
By developing international exchange programs
Immersion in the organization
By providing field studies worldwide and projects
By establishing global research
The construction of a campus abroad
The conference provides an opportunity for deans and directors of business schools in India for the exchange of knowledge and experience in a school MBA globalization.
