Trimetric, the agency that carried out CAT for the last two years will continue to conduct the test this year as well. IIM Calcutta and Prometric will make the official declaration of CAT 2011 in brief.
Review last year, CAT 2010, was conducted in a test window of 20 days between October 27, 2010 and November 24, 2010. The official announcement was made on Sunday, August 22, 2010. However, the news was broken first by MBAUniverse. com on July 12, 2010.
The application processing period was August 30, 2010 to October 4, 2010. The deadline for the process from the list online was October 7, 2010. CAT 2010 saw the registration of 2.06 lakh candidates, who saw a fall from last year, which was 2.42 lakh in CAT 2009.
Last year CAT conducted by IIM Lucknow and IIM Calcutta and CAT 2010 was Coordinator Prof. Himanshu Rai, IIM Lucknow Admission President.
CAT 2009, CAT-based computer first, and 2010 against Torture had some important differences. CAT 2009, being the first year of computer-based test could not provide, for the expectation and found a great fiasco. Being the first year of computer-based test, the CAT 2009 reported several types of technical problems such as the server crash, the computer screen, so get blank in the various tests centers across India. This requires Trimetric IIM and to retest timetable for candidates who face such tribulations. Then too, many candidates said that despite having an ability of satisfactory evidence, were not allowed to take a new test, or worse yet, received no response Trimetric and IIM.
CAT 2009 schedule, which was originally a schedule of 10 days from November 28 to December 7, 2010 was extended for one day, December 8, 2010. Repeated tests were scheduled on January 30 and 31, 2011.
To avoid technical problems faced in the CAT first computer-based story in 2009, Prof. Himanshu Rai decided to have a longer duration for the CAT. Instead of 10 consecutive days, the test was carried out in 20 days.
