The IIM, IIT and IISc announced that the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore has decided to use CAT 2011 in the process for selecting students for their MBA programs and MMgt from the academic year 2012-13. The test of joint management committee input (JMET) for admission to IITs and IISc are abandoned. A recent study showed that the relatively young JMET was not too dissimilar to the cat, and that efforts to organize JMET seemed enormous compared to the approximately 40 000 graduates who took the test each year.
