A marginal increase in number of CAT aspirants

After the fall of Common Admission Test topics discussed in the last two years, the number of cadets of the year, appears to have stabilized with 2.06 lakh admission forms were sold across the country. Registration ended October 4.

This was revealed by Prof. Janakiraman Murthy, chairman of the body, which makes the CAT exam this year. IIM Calcutta is the CAT exam this year.

"This year, the number of subjects examined has increased by about 1000-1500 as last year," Murthy told The Indian Express over the phone. The different forms of the CAT exam this year were sold from August 16 to October 1

In 2008, the number of students who had requested the examination was 2.76 lakh CAT and then with the onset of economic recession, the number of subjects examined had decreased significantly.

Students across the country will take the examination of the 300 seats in 13 IIM in the country, including as a new Udaipur IIM IIM, IIT and IIM Kashipur Tiruchirappalli. In addition IIMCAT 2012 score is the criteria for admission to various management institutes in the country. This year, the management institutes in the country, including those like Vinod Gupta School of Management, IIT Kharagpur also admit students on the basis of CAT exam.
