Delhi University: Students turn out in large numbers for campus placement
The placement cell of the Central University this year saw more than 21,000 students for their services to facilitate employment opportunities.
The day started with about 800 students to attend an investment process today and Dinesh Singh Vice-Chancellor, giving a talk before the companies started recruitment campaigns.
At the end of the day, 22 students - 18 girls and four boys - ended up clinching jobs, while many others would know his future destiny.
"Of the four companies that arrived today, one of them finished their performance and selected 22 students. The other three companies will give us their choice of tomorrow," said Dr.Gulshan Sawhney, Associate Dean social assistance to students.
The four companies that have been lined up for today were Aakash Institute, Jaipur Rugs, Naukri.com and teach in India.
This year, the placement cell for the first time catering for students enrolled in the School of Open Learning (SOL) and students of non-Collegiate Education Council of Women (ncweb), in addition to regular students who registered each year.
Last year, 12,000 students had registered for the placement of the cell.
