IGNOU Courses To Poor Stitching
Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is preparing to reach the most disadvantaged sectors of society through the implementation of special courses for them in garmentstitching. This started after a pact was signed between IGNOU and the Aditya Birla Group.
An official of the IGNOU said that the university wanted tobenefit the poor by running short courses to help strengthen and make them much needed employment. They currently offer a basic courseand in the seams of the garment anadvanced, and a third sewing clothing and quality control. At least 200 students are enrolled in the.
The official added that students on the course will study the centers created by Madura Fashion and Lifestyle Institute, part of the assets Aditya Birla.
Vice-Chancellor VN Rajasekharan Pillai said later, these courses lead to a diploma or certificate.
