IGNOU Inks Pact With Aditya Birla Group

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has signed an agreement with Birla NUVO Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary, Madura Fashion and Lifestyle Limited, to provide the skills and training needed garmentstitching community members who are unemployed / under employed, and live mainly in rural, suburban and disadvantaged.
According to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), IGNOU and Madura as well as fashion and lifestyle Limited launched three short-term no (STNC) credit courses, namely: the certificate of clothes Advance Certificate sewn clothes sewn months and two months Advance Stitching proof clothing and Quality Control for two and a half months.
All these programs will be coordinated by the IGNOU Regional Centre Delhi-1 at Mohan Cooperative Estate.
The MoU was signed by the clerk of the American University and RS Tolia Balasubramanyam, Head-Corporate Social Responsibility, Aditya Birla Group, in the presence of VN Rajasekharan Pillai, VC, IGNOU, in the meeting room of the office of the CR university.
VC on the need to ink the pact says that "Many organizations are looking for a human resources training and train as part of their social responsibility. They require a certificate from IGNOU. Students can pursue these courses at certificate or diploma level, which may be given in the later stages. "

Under the MoU, the F & Madura register at least 200 students per year per IGNOU approved eligibility and implementation of programs in accredited training centers only. Balasubramanyam announced a special research center in Bangalore for the implementation of these courses.
"The certificates for all programs will be awarded by IGNOU STNC RC-I Delhi that its standardized process and format," said Sanjeev Pandey, Regional Director, Delhi RC-1.
"This initiative has been implemented as part of the company's corporate social responsibility, to participate actively in social economic development of communities, particularly among marginalized part of society to live in rural areas and from a distance. This training allow individuals are finding gainful employment in industry and also contributes to self-employment, "said SR Balasubramanyam.
The company will develop teaching methodologies for each program based on their curriculum and specific learning objectives. It should also provide facilities and practices of the library and also requires an assessment of the assignment, according to the guidelines and rules of IGNOU.
Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) to accept the methods of teaching and training. Madura F & L would be to organize the teaching and learning and the need for exposure of field training under the guidance of the Supervision Commission.
