"The deaf adults should be able to go to the highest level to which we do business in different parts of the country," said VN Rajasekharan, IGNOU Vice-Chancellor during a meeting with the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) and all India Federation of People Deaf (AIFD) in their views of the institute.
The vice president also said that IGNOU in the periodic meetings of the database with these associations.
The central government has recently approved the establishment of a sign language research in indigenous and Training (ISLRTC) for the first time on a project basis for a period of five years, as an autonomous center of IGNOU.

When hiring teachers, IGNOU said preference should be given to candidates who are deaf. "We hire deaf employees on a trial basis for the proposed center," said Rajasekharan.
