MISSION 2050
AMITY UNIVERSITY: On the Holy occasion of Swami Vivekananda Birthday myself Indranil Chakraborty and my dear friend Mohammad Azhar are honored to present our views on His Mission 2050.
To start with we would like to throw some light on his views on “The Purpose of Human Life”
Purpose of Life:
Why we all are here In this beautiful world ? What is our purpose of living?
Swamiji said everyone on this planet has a purpose in life which gives him the power to live and power to strive for improving his life. Even if you ask a beggar does he has a purpose in life he would say YES! I do have a purpose to l ive that is what gives me the power to exist in this unforgiving world.
Likewise we all, who are sitting in this class have a purpose, aim, goal, wanting to achieve a niche in his/her life.
Now coming to the main topic this afternoon and the thought of Swamiji which made this day to be called the “National Youth Day”
The Importance of youth in Mission 2050:
“Youth”, When we talk about this word only one nation comes to our mind “INDIA”. This is because INDIA has the maximum population of over 36 million who are in the age group (15-24).The real youth.
According to PwC report India should beat USA in terms of Economy by the year 2050 and should share 13% to 15% of world GDP second only to China at that time.
Currently because of PPP (Purchasing Power Parity), India holds 4th position.PPP is an economic term which measures GDP in terms of purchasing power of a local currency.
Role of youth in achieving Mission 2050:
Mission 2050 has inclusive growth to achieve National Integration, Secularism and to make INDIA a power nation. For achieving this Youth plays a vital role. Presently in Small Medium Enterprises, India has maximum youth Entrepreneurs. If we take the example of China, Maximum youth engage in building communities and with the help of these communities China develop skills and generate livelihood for youth. Because of these Communities a large number of entrepreneurs come into existence from every age group, caste, religion etc. By these activities China is developing their youth without any discrimination of Caste, Creed or Religion.
Slowly but steadily India is also developing this habit of building communities. Indian planning commission is on the forefront of this it has initiated various schemes like NAREGA,SGRY,NRLM,SEEUY(Self-Employment scheme for educated and Unemployed Youth), SKEWRPY (Sher-e-Kashmir employment and welfare program for the youth)
Powering Nation Strategies:
self-actualization.
morality, creativity. spontaneity, acceptance. experience purpose. meaning and inner potential.
self-esteem.
confidence, achievement, respect of others, the need to be a unique individual. love and belonging. friendship, family, intimacy, sense of connection
safety and security.
health, employment, property, family and social stability.
physiological needs.
breathing, food, water, shelter, clothing, sleep
If we make our strategy based on Maslow Hierarchy, then surely we would achieve our dream of making India a Powerful Nation in This Globe.
Basic and Physiological needs:-
By providing a pollution free but industrious country where people do have access to pure breathing air, proper shelter, clothing’s. But also maintaining a healthy agriculture so citizen’s have access to proper and healthy food maintaining an infrastructure such as to cope with the ever-growing population of our Country. There should be a place for every individual where he could take rest or sleep after having a hard day’s at work.
Safety and Security:-
Safety is the major concern for any person be it the youth or the elder, Growing wings of terrorism has created a sense of fear amongst the common man, goons and antisocial elements are at a rise. In such a pathetic situation common person has a sense of insecurity slowly creeping into their hearts. They doubt for the safety of themselves and of their families in these conditions. India should strengthen their borders for incoming threats and police system should be improved. In Sensitive areas security should be tightened and Intelligence services should be made more competitive to deal with growing powers of Terrorism and Under-World. There should be guarantee of employment for every educated individual and uneducated youth should be trained properly for some work of their own interest.
Love and Belonging:-
Every individual should be treated like equals and there should be no discrimination based on caste and creed. If sense of security and physiological needs of a person are taken care of then he could always live happily with his family and his community. There will be a sense of connection, friendship and sense of belonging which is necessary for any person to give his 100% in his work.
Self-Esteem:-
A person should be dully rewarded for his achievements and awarded for his gallantry or patriotic deeds this will inculcate sense of patriotism in the citizen and will give him loads of confidence and respect from his friends and relatives a person should be also rewarded for his achievements in the field of art and culture sports and education with spontaneity and without any prejudice. These all will increase his self-esteem.
Self Actualization:-
If we have self-esteem and sense of belonging happiness, sense of social and organizational security, it leads to self-actualization i.e., morality ,creativity, spontaneity, problem solving nature, lack of prejudice and acceptance of all human being. It builds not only our moral values but also the inner maturity and rise of inner potential is achieved by a person.
CONCLUSION:
So to conclude we would like to emphasis on the fact that if these aforesaid factors are considered by any country then any youth has the potential to transform the country into a power nation. Especially our Indian Youth who have the most powerful analytical and research oriented brain in the world. We would also would like to put that if all Indians join hands and make a pledge to rebuild our nation and give the responsibility of rebuilding to us youth we could not only transform the nation into a power nation but also the world into a peaceful world.
Thanking You,
Indranil Chakraborty
Mohammad Azhar
