Rapid Developments

The procedure we have followed for our development needs critical analysis and use of new ideas due to dissatisfaction among people .

The main thrust in our five year plans were on

1) universallisation of elementary education

2) making available safe drinking water

3) primary health care

4) employment generation

5) agriculture - growth and diversification for self

sufficiency/ industry for strengthening infrastructure

to support growth.

Today we find technology is very much developed in the field of health, agriculture, education, industry. But making it available to all the people is a slow process. For example when we talk of education we have to plan for construction of school building, training for teachers, infrastructure, creating interest among people for learning etc. It takes considerable time and good amount of fund for covering large areas/population. Similarly hospitals for health care. Our effort should be all the people get same type of facilities to remove dissatisfaction among people. It is not possible to have people get/enjoy all the facilities within a short time if we follow the existing procedure.

We can use few items from recent developments in science and technology to provide same type of opportunity and facilities to all within a short time. Modern audio/visual devices like TV, VCD player and educational CDS on health, agriculture, basic science and social science can be provided to schools(existing) and to villages at remote places where infrastructure and trained teachers are not there. Battery operated VCD player can be provided in areas where electricity not available. This audio visual methods are cheap, does not need infrastructure, attract people of all age. TV programs are liked and seen by all. Adopting this method, all places can be put with good education within a short time. CDs on health, agriculture can explain recent practices to people.

Recently we have seen Times of India initiating an innovative move ‘Teach India’ very successfully.

We find unemployment in rural and urban areas is increasing. This makes youths disheartened. The prevailing concept a person has to work 8 hours and more needs a change. 4 to 5 hours should be normal working hour. A person should not be asked to work for more than 4-5 hours in any place, rural or urban, private or public Rather he/she should be encouraged to spend more time for all other activities related to development of family, health, entertainment etc. This will provide employment to maximum and stop harassment, exploitation like things. To make it easy for all websites can be used for providing employment information and data about starting a new industry /business .

Use of underground water and techniques of purifying it, is to be made popular. Making available vehicle mounted drilling machines for drilling upto sufficient depth( does not become dry in summer) in most areas will solve water problem .

Accumulation of population in big cities to be discouraged. Big cities are to be considered for visit/travel purposes and not for earning livelihood. New areas can be developed providing shelter and other essentials with simple technology. The place can be connected to near by developed places by making available sufficient number of vehicles.

Vehicle like auto- rikshaw, less expensive and easy to drive, can be used at all remote places in large number. Roads if not there can be made with less effort by local people for plying this type of vehicle. These vehicles can be powered by solar energy after further advancement of solar energy technology. This way remotest places will be connected to transport network immediately and people will not face much problem. Local power generation like use of solar panel cell for house hold use to be made popular.

In summary, we have to follow the way primitive man lived. Arranging food, cooking food , arranging water and making shelter locally with easily available techniques which can be used at any place. Exploring the world and learning, which will be the main interest of people, to be done globally. For this use of existing transportation system, industries and universities will be used.

Words like religion/caste from all official papers are to be removed. A person to be known by continent/country/state/dist/village/post i.e., geographical (natural) identity on the earth. This will end the hostility among people due to man made identities like religion caste etc.

All offices, universities, schools, banks, hospitals etc can keep a unit/section called “rapid developments” along with their normal activities. This unit will provide essential development requisites as described above in near by undeveloped areas. Such practices are already there in few organizations but it is done occasionally.

After making all facilities available easily to all parts of the country quickly, the normal development plans can be followed .
