Yesterdays' (26 November 2008) terror attacks in South Mumbai at Nariman Point, Trident/Oberoi, CST, Gateway of India, Taj Hotel, Colaba, Leopold Cafe, Dockyard, Santacruz, Vile Parle are a great failure on the part of we, citizens of India.
Its more than 7 years since 9/11 and there's hardly any evidence of any major terror attacks in the US. In fact, there has been no terror incidence thereafter. The London Blast in July 2005 and no incidence thereafter in UK. But here in India, I guess, we must have witnessed more terror attacks than the world combined. Shameful, Isn't it? No, Applause. Why? Just because we Indians are peace loving? OR because India is a soft target? Does any of our so called leader have an answer to this question?
What does the Marathi Manoos Messiah want to say about this. Mumbai is not yours', its ours, and for that matter, India is mine. "Mumbai se nikalna hai toh is aatank ko nikalne ne ke liye kuchh karo, na ki apne hi Bhartiya bhai-bandhuon ko." And at least try and roam about without your security, can you? No, because its you have made enemies yourself and no one else is responsible for that. First, stop terrorists from entering India not Indians entering Mumbai. Extradicate terrorism, not Indians.
All the media reports say that PM condemns the terror attacks, Sonia condemns the attacks, CM condemns the attacks. But is just condemning enough? What are they doing about it? NOTHING! Can they assure us, the citizens of India that this is the end? NO! Tomorrow, everything will be normal. Our ministers will be again having fruitless meetings and everything will be forgotten. Why? Because we allow them to rule. These bunch of Brats (not the terrorists but our corrupt politicians) who are not less than terrorists themselves with Z security should be stripped of their status and brought to book. Do any of our ministers have the guts to come out in open like us, just like a common man? NO, how can they come out without their security, their life is important yaar! And what about us? We are a whole lot of unwanted human beings who pay tax to give them their security, their salary, their royal stature, their "aiyaashi". On top of that they get kick-backs from us for signing and approving our tenders & awarding us contracts. They can’t give us good basic infrastructure but they get all the facilities because we give it to them. So at the end of the day, we are responsible for these attacks, aren't we? Now what can we do about it? Nothing!
The main culprit is the common man. And I think, we, the citizens of India should claim responsibility for these attacks and have to pay for it. Go ahead, Hang us!
