India can become a "Developed Nation" by the Year 2030 when it can surpass US $20,000 per capita income for it's people.
Based on Economic Modelling and Forecasting I have worked on here are the results of what we can achieve..... which still needs to be peer reviewed and validated.
It assumes some very aggressive / optimistic, but realistic and do-able growth rates... similar or eventually slightly better than China's growth in late 1990s / 2000s. This is only possible if we can get our act together and don't miss out to take advantage of this Golden opportunity.
Gross Domestic Product (GDP) - Purchasing Power Parity (in US $ Trillions):
2009 = $3.5 T;         2020 = $10.8 T;         2025 = $18 T;         2030 = $  29 T;         2040 = $72 T;         2050 = $158 T;         2075 =   $647 T;         2100 = $1,567 T
Population (Billions):
2009 =    1.17 B;     2020 =  1.33 B;      2025 =  1.38 B;      2030 =  1.43 B;      2040 = 1.52 B;      2050 =  1.6 B;      2075 =  1.82 B;         2100 = 2.06 B
GDP Per Capita - Purchasing Power Parity (US $):
2009 =  $3,000;    2020 = $8,100;    2025 = $13,200;    2030 =  $20,700;    2040 = $47,000;    2050 =  $99,000;     2075 =  $357,000;    2100 =  $762,000
GDP per Capita is being used as a simplified proxy for a "standard of living" indicator. I have also made the assumption that when India has a US $ 20,000 per capita income then we can classify it as having become a "Developed Nation".
* Please note that the above $ (Dollar) figures have not been discounted / adjusted for inflation rate to derive the expected current value of future forecast $ amounts.
