Should court accept Kasab's demand?
The lawyer representing Ajmal
Amir Kasab, the lone surviving terrorist of the November 2008 terror
strikes in Mumbai, on Wednesday told a Special Court that is hearing
his case, that his client has made four fresh requests.
Abbas Kazmi told reporters outside the court that Kasab's four demands include (1) Urdu language newspaper (2) His money should be placed in the jail account (3) He should be allowed to stroll in the verandah outside his jail cell and (4) He should be provided with flavored toothpaste.
Kazmi further informed that he told the court that his client is mentally frustrated and tense and physically weak. He said that these requests have been forwarded through the office of the jail superintendent.
Asked what was the court's reaction to the
request, Kazmi said that the judge had said that providing his client
with a Urdu newspaper would be difficult, and as far as the other items
were concerned, the requests would be forwarded to the jail
superintendent and whatever is feasible under the jail manual, would be
provided.
