RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said the issue of leadership in the BJP has to be decided by the BJP."Whatever is happening in BJP the infighting is not good and it should stop. Whatever has to be done by the party to put in place a system and corrective measures, it is for them to do," said RSS chief Mohan Bahgwat while addressing a well-attended press conference at New Delhi on Friday. The present crisis in BJP and RSS due to the recent election verdict has given a "jolt" to BJP, Bhagwat said the party needed to do some urgent balancing act and the Sangh was hopeful they will do it.

RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat said that crisis ridden Bharatiya Janata Party will rise from the ashes. He said the BJP is perfectly capable of overcoming its problems and refused to interfere in its affairs. Addressing, crowded press conference in New Delhi yesterday, Mr Bhagwat, however, said it is for the BJP to decide on the leadership issue. He also spoke
in favour of generational change in the party.

Late in the evening, four senior BJP leaders, Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, Ananth Kumar and Venkaiah Naidu met Mr Bhagwat. After holding discussions with him for almost two hours, they drove to the residence of the leader of the opposition Mr L.K Advani. Mr Venkaiah later dismissed the speculation that the succession issue was discussed.

Bid to Continue to blame BJP top brass,Jaswant Singh has said that senior BJP leader L K Advani was "at the centre" of the cash-for-votes scam drama enacted in the Lok Sabha last year.

"It's a great sense of pity. Here was a man who has consumed by an ambition to be Prime Minister, and that desire made him commit so many mistakes.

Earlier, BJP spokesman Prakash Javdekar said, Mr Advani cannot be blamed for the release of the terrorists in exchange of hostages. Mr Javdekar said the decision in this regard was taken by consensus.

Truce seems not decaying the Sr Leaders of BJP trading charges against each other and party is unable to keep the remarks in check. Senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha, who had raised questions of accountability in the wake of poll drubbing, today launched a fresh attack on the party leadership by criticising the expulsion of Jaswant Singh.

He also was sharply critical of the way in which a leader of Jaswant Singh's standing was peremptorily expelled without even a show cause notice being issued.

"Jaswant Singh was dealt with unfairly. Though I do not agree with Jaswant Singh's assessment of Jinnah, still, I feel it was not a disciplinary matter at all," the former External Affairs Minister told PTI here.
