ICICI Bank retains credit limit of Satyam staff
Showing itssolidarity with the staff of troubled Satyam Computer, the country's topprivate sector lender ICICI Bank today said it has retained the credit limit ofits customers working at the scam-ridden IT firm.
"ICICI Bank would like to point out that credit limits are dynamic and arerevised based on changing environment. However, in case of Satyam employees,the bank has retained the credit limit," the bank said in a statement toPTI.
Earlier this week, thegovernment-appointed board of Satyam had asked the banks to support theemployees of Satyam.HDFC Chairman Deepak Parekh, a member in the Satyam board,asked bankers to go soft on Satyam employees and even support them.
When all the other banks were cutting up the credit limit of the employees of Satyam, I feel ICICI had done a good deed by proving themselves different from other banks in terms of delivery of services rendered to its customers. Employees of other top MNC have reviewed the move of the banks serious and are considering which bank's credit card they should hold to survive in times of crises.
